While working with farmers can help them to better understand how this can actually help them, it is incumbent on those making and enforcing laws to avoid the politicisation of scientific evidence, evidence which will not conveniently go away because lawmakers will themselves to ignore it. All of these decisions are ultimately more than the sum of their parts and failure to adhere to the facts will ultimately hurt everyone, including farmers.
