Jamie Arntzen

Jamie is the Director of Land Stewardship for the Illinois Audubon Society. Her passion for nature began in childhood with birdwatching and identifying local woodland wildflowers. She holds a B.S. in Geography and Environmental Science from Northern Illinois University, and has more than five years of experience in botany and natural areas restoration work.

We will dive into the ways that reporting the presence of invasive species to botanical databases affects habitat management and land management strategies, as well as helping us learn more about species behavior. I will also discuss the different resources for reporting species, which invasive plants are new and beginning to spread in Illinois, and the importance of proper identification.
